Campaigning Period is Official!

Candidates are everywhere and anywhere campaigning and promising everything they can, or shall I say, everything they can say.  The nation is asking, will they all keep their promises?  In all fairness, I can see several worthy candidates with clear missions.  I have seen old politicians who have worked so hard to win yet very little to witness finishing their main objectives.

One thing interests me most is that the first governor of the Philippines’ Muslim Mindanao region, Nur Misuari, has endorsed Bangon Pilipinas standard bearer Bro. Eddie Villanueva.  With their unity, I can see hope spreading peace in Mindanao.  If I remember it right I somehow read somewhere in the news why Misuari joined Villanueva.  He had this strong conviction that God is on Villanueva’s side when he received a ‘miracle’ from God which I will still need to recall and post here.

It was the 9th of February when Luneta woke up with a kick from one of the profoundest presidentiables boasted up the Philippine flag, Brother Eddie Villanueva. I like the theme of “Bangon Pilipinas,” as Bro. Eddie mentioned during the said kick off, “Today marks the rise of a new beginning.”  It is a wake up call to all, arise Philippines!  I am so overwhelmed with the giant flag, measuring 180 meters by 92 meters, which was proudly unfurled on the field right in front of the Quirino Grandstand. According to “Bangon Pilipinas,” the unveiling of the flag symbolizes a gesture of hope for a new Philippines.  Bro. Eddie cited, “Ang pinakamalaking bandila sa buong Pilipinas ay iniladlad sa banal na lupa ng Luneta Park.”  This election is his second chance at the presidency.  The first attempt of his was in 2004 where most of his supporters failed to register, aside from his claim that he was also cheated like FPJ.  Villanueva also believes that FPJ should have won last election.

Other senatorial bets of Bangon Pilipinas are Zafrullah Alonto and Adz Nikabulin, who are Muslim leaders, while Ramoncito Ocampo is one of the elders of the El Shaddai.  Israel Virgines is a Seventh Day Adventist,  broadcasters Kata Innocencio and Alex Tinsay and lawyer Reynaldo Princesa.

APPPOINT V, 1. Alonto 2. Paredes 3. Princesa 4. Papin 5. Ocampo 6. Inocencio 7. Nibulin 8. Ticsay 9. Virgines

Coincidence? The sound and the meaning remains. Imelda is 2 times governor of Bicol an outstanding vice governor then. While Zosimo ‘Jess’ Paredes is a PMAer. An undersecretary of the Visiting Forces Agreement but resigned after the raping of a Filipina by Lance Smith. Smith was transferred from the jail to the US Embassy.
