Sarah Geronimo, Endorsing Noynoy Aquino?

Sen. Legarda’s celebrity endorser,  Sarah Geronimo, is now being bragged for publicity and allegedly using Sarah’s picture to make noise.  Geronimo is now being pinned between big walls of hot political figures now that election is only a few weeks ahead. The picture of Geronimo (insert), who’s wearing a yellow t-shirt and making a “Laban” sign (“L” sign hand gesture) is now spreading around the media world in the country. The yellow color and “Laban” sign are known to be belonging to the Aquino clan opposing the government, then the Marcos regime, and now the Arroyo Government.

Viva big boss Vic del Rosario justified that the pop star is still a supporter of the Nacionalista Party (NP), specifically VP wannabe Loren Legarda.  Del Rosario’s recent statement about the issue alleged that the said photo was altered and surmised and that it was probably meant to damage the reputation of the pop star and the party being endorsed.

Legarda blamed Aquino’s camp for the controversy, saying she is no longer surprised by her opponents’ alleged smear campaign against her and running mate Sen. Manny Villar.

Reports said the controversial picture was taken in 2007 and was posted in the singer’s website.  Geronimo is among the roster of celebrities endorsing Villar’s camp.  There are also rumors spreading that she was paid P20 million in exchange for her endorsement, which Sen. Legarda denied and confirmed untrue.  During the press conference last March 29, Geronimo belied these rumors that she was paid a hefty sum to endorse Legarda’s candidacy.  If we remember it right, it was only last month that Legarda and Geronimo launched their partnership.
