Lakers Got their 16th Championship Title!

June 17, Tursday, Kobe Bryant exerted so much of his energy in the first half, giving them the score of just eight points as the Celtics led by six points, 40-34, at the half and 57-53 heading into the fourth.  The Lakers hung around and Kobe was trapped in heat during the fourth quarter dominating the rebounds right on his own court.  Scores showed the rewarding 23 points from Kobe,  while Pau Gasol had 19 points and 18 rebounds as the Lakers vowed to beat the Boston Celtics 83-79 for their 16th NBA championship.  Forward Ron Artest finished with 20 points and five steals for the Lakers who battled from behind Thursday to beat the most sparkling period in NBA history and took over their second-straight championship title.

The Los Angeles Lakers’ fans triumphed over their 16th championship title as Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol struggled with overwhelming enthusiasms for the sweet victory over the Boston Celtics.  Who would have forgotten the bitter after taste following their humiliating 2008 finals loss to the Celtics? The LA Lakers won the crown despite a poor shooting night. They gave out shots just 32.5 percent from the field and 67.5 percent from the free throw line.

The Lakers outrebounded the Celtics 53-40 on the night.  Over the next seasons, time will be the judge on whether a two-championship run evolves into a period.  Come to think of their future possible rematch again since Bryant, Gasol and Artest are signed through years 2013 to 14, a solid start in an NBA landscape that will face much free-agent movement this summer and, more favorably a potential lockout in 2011 through 2012.

Over all it was a night to remember for both teams’ fans.  Voices gone husky and tears burst for both victory and defeat.  Congratulations to both teams!   All of the players did well and gave their best!
